Born and raised in Amsterdam and coming from an mixed-race family, there where always various musical influences present growing up.
But it was around the Age of 17, when Edgar Ramiro started collecting Vinyl, Cassette tapes, CDs etc.
After an holiday with family in Curaçao, he inherited a collection from his aunt with records and books mainly focused around the black diaspora. While cleaning up and listening to all these records, he discovered many hidden gems and got inspired by the wide variety of music within this collection..
From this moment the urge to discover and learn more about the history of this music became bigger, and eventually lead to sharing this music with others. He started playing records at the legendary Cafe Belgique, Pacific Parc and Red light Radio and has gradually became a well known figure in Amsterdam’s night life.
Next to his monthly residency at Cornerstore, you can find him playing at clubs and festivals such as Dekmantel Selectors, DTRH, Lentekabinet, Wildeburg, Paradiso, Garage Noord, Brilliant Corners, Unit 58, NAR to name a few.. Curating became the next step and this is when his own club night “Melting Pot” was born. And together with his friend Tienson he started doing a series of extended b2b sets in clubs or at festivals under the name “TINTELS”
In his DJ-sets he will always find ways to share his latest finds and is known for blending a wide variety of old and new sounds from around the globe, ranging from Afrobeat, Disco, House, Funk, Ghetto Tech, to Kawina, Salsa, Bollywood funk, Rai and Bubbling.. Aiming on breaking borders and creating unity on the dance floor. Edgar Ramiro promises to deliver a musical journey which is ever vibrant and high in energy!
