Hibotep is a sonic warrior, genre-shapeshifter, and force of nature who defies every mold. Based between Kampala and the cosmos, she channels chaos into power, building hypnotic worlds where techno, grime, gqom, hip hop, industrial, and experimental frequencies collide with East African energy and deep ancestral resonance.
Of Somali origin, DJ, producer, filmmaker, and fashion alchemist, Hibotep isn’t just multidisciplinary—she’s multidimensional. Whether performing at CTM, Dekmantel, Sonar or Nyege Nyege, her sets are wild rides through time and space: unpredictable, emotionally charged, and spiritually grounded. She doesn’t just play tracks—she casts spells. In 2019 she joined the We Are Europe roster and became the face of Native Instruments traktor and became resident at the Moheim Triennale.
