Some Chemistry: Barbecue Space Station Set

Some Chemistry, born into a globetrotting family that found music to be the closest thing to religion, is a new age nomad and music is his first home. After conducting an amateur drum ensemble over in Burkina Faso, he became a guitar player in several indie-punk bands throughout The Netherlands and ultimately became infected by the sound of Amsterdam’s underground clubbing scene by the mid 2000’s.

Intrigued by the infinite output dimensions of a PA system and having developed a special taste for alternative house and techno, he immersed himself into a true ambassador of dance in Amsterdam by the early 2010’s. If he is not in the studio or out DJing, he is on the hunt for new electronic talent and shares his newfound treasures by having curated well-respected events in Amsterdam based clubs such as Trouw, Studio 80 or Marktkantine, whilst ultimately getting invited to play at contemporary cutting-edge places such as Shelter, de Loft, Awakenings, Time Warp, Wildeburg, Welcome to the Future, Soenda, or often at Berlin’s Wilde Renate to name some institutions.

Some Chemistry has recent releases on labels such as Amsterdam’s illustrious ‘Bordello A Parigi’, Man Power’s ‘Me Me Me’ imprint and some new bangers on Coloray’s Intercept label coming up.

As a dj he easily switches between a melodramatic kind of indie house, dreamy balearic grooves, a pinch of disco or ultimately, to simply put it; a mix of italo and techno.

It’s hard to pin down, but he likes to call it ‘Electropical soytrance from Amsterdam’.
