Andert Tysma

Andert Tysma is a Dutch composer and producer working at the intersection of contemporary classical music, ambient electronics and immersive sound design. His work combines piano, modular synthesis and cinematic textures into deeply atmospheric compositions that explore memory, transformation and the emotional landscapes that shape our lives.

Following his albums Children of Trinoom (2022) and Hana (2024) on Apollo/R&S Records, Tysma returns in 2026 with Parallels, his third full-length album on R&S Records. The album reflects on the lives we live and the lives we don't, embracing the complexity of a life shaped by choice, chance and circumstance. It explores the unseen possibilities that accompany every decision and the many versions of ourselves that remain just beyond reach. Moving between darkness and light, tension and resolution, Parallels traces how identity is gradually formed through the accumulation of choices, while remaining open to the mystery of all that could have unfolded differently.

A seasoned musician, Tysma spent years touring internationally before focusing on his own artistic practice. In 2025 he supported Yann Tiersen on multiple European dates, including a performance at the Barbican Centre in London.

Alongside his artistic career, Tysma works as a medical doctor, an experience that continues to inform his exploration of perception, emotion and the human condition.
