Dutch songwriter Lotte Walda writes songs to spread positive energy and help create a kinder, more connected world. Deeply inspired by nature and by the music of the sixties and seventies, Lotte feels most at home in the sounds of that era — songs full of warmth, connection and timeless storytelling. Through her music, she hopes to remind people of the light and love that still live in the world. She loves creating catchy melodies that stick with listeners. Blending folk, pop and country, her songs tell heartfelt stories about life, love and staying true to yourself. With her warm voice and honest lyrics, she aims to touch, comfort and uplift everyone who listens.
Her musical journey began on the old Sint Servaas Bridge of Maastricht near her hometown, where she would fill the streets with her voice and guitar. From those early days, she wanted to “build a bridge that reminds people of the joy within that connects them to their inner child. This curiosity and open-heartedness soon took her on a global adventure. She’s since performed everywhere from the Bluebird Café in Nashville to festival stages across the Netherlands, and even shared her music on the streets of China.
Her journey has taken her to places like Ibiza, Portugal, Colorado and Guatemala — and to the stage alongside legendary artists such as Melanie Safka, Douwe Bob and Will and the People. She continues to draw inspiration from the timeless warmth and connection of sixties and seventies music.
In 2018, Lotte released her debut album Sunflower, produced by Gino Bombrini. The single Let It Flow became a worldwide favorite, reaching over 14 million streams on Spotify. Her second album Dragonfly (2023), made together with Gino and Angelo Bombrini, reflected transformation and growth, inspired by nature and her travels. The album was launched with an 18-piece band in Valkenburg and followed by a national club tour with shows in Paradiso, TivoliVredenburg, Rotown and Luxor Live.
Her album Dragonfly came out on a double vinyl and it includes 18 songs. Her track Stompin’ in the Rain was also featured on a Putumayo world music compilation.
Now, Lotte is working on her third studio album, produced by Angelo Bombrini. This new record draws inspiration from personal stories about coming home and love, creating a warm, intimate and acoustic sound. The album will be followed by a spring 2026 tour across the Netherlands, where Lotte will bring her new songs to life in her most personal way yet.
