Mariah Blue (b. 1977 U.S.) is an Amsterdam-based interdisciplinary artist and instrument maker working across performance, new media, installation and sound, often in collaboration with other artists. Her practice explores technology through diverse materials, from stone-age pottery techniques to machine learning algorithms. Seeking to challenge definitions of technology that privilege only the complex, inaccessible, and expensive, Blue makes our embodied relationships with technology visible through experimentation and play.
She holds a bachelor's degree from the Rietveld Academie (2009) and an MFA from the Sandberg Institute (2019). Her work has been presented across the Netherlands and internationally in exhibitions, performances, and collaborative projects.
