Voor het Landjuweel Festival 2026 bundelen Kayva van Gangelen en Piet Jan Blauw hun krachten in een bijzondere artistieke samenwerking. Waar Blauw elektronische klanklandschappen combineert met geprojecteerde beelden en immersieve sferen, brengt Van Gangelen als hobospelende muzikant een eigen, verfijnde klankwereld mee. Samen presenteren zij een sfeervolle ambient set waarin organische geluiden, improvisatie en verstilling samenkomen.
Hun performance verkent de ruimte tussen muziek, beeld en verbeelding. De warme klanken van de hobo verweven zich met atmosferische elektronische lagen en subtiele visuele projecties, waardoor een meditatieve ervaring ontstaat die uitnodigt tot vertraging, verwondering en verbinding.
Hoboïste Kayva van Gangelen is te horen op Leonard Cohens postuum verschenen album Thanks for the Dance. Als muzikant, performer en maker beweegt ze zich al jaren op het snijvlak van experiment, improvisatie en hedendaagse muziek. Ze richtte het Nederlandse ensemble Perforator op, speelde bij The Kyteman Orchestra en is lid van het Berlijnse ensemble Stargaze.
Met Stargaze werkte ze samen met kunstenaars als Terry Riley, Bill Frisell, Bon Iver, Nils Frahm en Amanda Palmer, en trad ze op tijdens de Biënnale van Venetië, het New Zealand Festival of the Arts en het Edinburgh International Festival, evenals op internationale podia als de Philharmonie de Paris, Volksbühne Berlin en het Barbican Centre in Londen. Stargaze tekende een platencontract bij het Britse label Transgressive Records.
Since 2000 Piet Jan Blauw has been focused on music performances in Europe and Mexico - Sol festival (Spain), Paradiso Amsterdam, Psy Fi festival (NL), Cumbre Tajin (Mex). Moods Zurich (Switzerland).
The music is a mix of Ambient, Down Tempo, Latin Fusion, Trance and Psy Trance Blauw's instruments produce archetypal sounds. His music can never be played in exactly the same way and demands improvisation. He sculpts soundscapes as he plays with his hands in invisible beams. This results in a pantheon of sounds that are ministered by samplers, sequencers, and processors. He drives his own aural sculptures to their limits in every performance. Technology enables him to push the limits, yet he always uses it as a tool of creation.

Blauw's vision is not just the mere manipulation of technological gadgets. Their use is meant to ultimately evoke an emotional response from the audience and spur them on to discover lost domains within themselves. His objects are of sophisticated craftsmanship.
Piet Jan Blauw has highly sensitive antennae which serve him. His multi-facetted work is strongly devoted to communication in a rapidly changing society. Visual artist, musician, the inventor of instruments and installations: this amiable artist from the North Holland town of Hoorn is impossible to pigeonhole. He's always had an aversion to categories. He quickly developed a love for interactive media. Blauw explains " I was looking for other means to communicate, because the language didn't seem to achieve what I wanted. Later on, I began to identify with the objects I created. I wanted to feel what I had made.
